BMKFNBMS

so recently, ive been having this "securanoia." sort of.

i have probably close to 700 bookmarks. you know what they are. they're "favorites" as Internet Explorer calls them. you know. but i like firefox, and firefox calls them bookmarks. so bookmarks they are. at work i bookmark a million things. and i love the folders you can create within folders with bookmarks for everything. and on break time i like to surf the web and i bookmark things that are exciting. things i like to go back to. of course there are rss feeds. (click here to learn more about rss feed) which are brilliant by the way. and i fully utilize rss feeds. but then there are those sites that dont have them. and there are those sites that i want to bookmark anyways. to give you an example, i have a folder in my bookmark toolbar called "breaktime" in there is another one called "bike" and in there another called "bike routes" in this folder are several bookmarks, one particular one is called "haymarket to pioneers fast." if you want to see what it is click here. so this gives you an idea.

a few months ago i decided to go to a web-based bookmark system. these allow you to store your bookmarks online of course so you can access them anywhere. i thought this would be a better system, especially since i have two completely different sets of bookmarks. (one at home, one at work.) now there are a lot of webbased bookmarking sites out there, but i decided to go with ma.gnolia. why? i liked their logo. im a sucker for good logos. its a pretty little flower with a pistol of a g. sadly, it turns out ma.gnolia is pretty slow. too slow. so slow that since importing all my bookmarks to ma.gnolia, i have caught myself STILL bookmarking things in firefox. dang.

ok, so lets get orgnaized. i re-researched web-based bookmarks. and it turns out (i feel like an idiot for not knowing this) that google has one. i use all sorts of google things. google mail, google maps, google rss, google docs and spreadsheets, google homepage, google guns (oh wait...), and even this blog is hosted by google. but heres where the securanoia comes in. i have this theory that maybe the government owns google. or maybe they will someday. this is highly plausible. why? well cause if they did, they would have access to pretty much anything and everything i do on the web. they can read my mail, they can look at my chats in google talk, they can look at docs and my searches on the web and on and on. and so to import all my bookmarks on there is one more thing. and its a big one. see i have a lot of weird and odd bookmarks. things that...lets just say if the gov. knew all my bookmarks they would bookmark me. so i dont know what to do. yahoo does have an online bookmarking dealio and they utilize folders. i like folders. but i like tags. i want both. and i want it fast. and i want something that is secure. i need to do more research. i do. and im open to suggestions. but meanwhile i have a mess of a system. today i made a folder in my bookmarks called "not bookmarked anywhere" and i put a bunch of bookmarks in there. oh thats good. that like flying.

then i got to thinking about all the crazy systems i have for everything. im OC and i have a lot of OC going on and i had this thought: what if i get amnesia. what if i forget all my OC habits. then i got to thinking i should write a note to myself explaining everything. but what if someone gets a hold of that? well i could come up with a code that ill write the note in. yea. then ill mail the code to my cousin Marky and tell him to not open the letter but to lock it in a safe place until my other cousin Jimmy contacts him. then i will tell Jimmy that if i ever get amnesia to let my friend Mo know in boston. and Ill tell Mo that when Jimmy contacts him to call Marky.

but where will i put my coded letter to myself? and what if one of them dies? what if they get amnesia? what if there is a fire?

im in panic mode right now.

but do keep your eyes peeled for "google banks" when that happens, you should expect the government to make a statement that there are plenty of funds available for Social Security for generations to come.

yes
yes.

always.
