Palmer, Alfred T.,, photographer.

Men and women make efficient operating teams on riveting and other jobs at the Douglas Aircraft plant, Long Beach, Calif. Most important of the many types of aircraft made at this plant are the B-17F ("Flying Fortress") heavy bomber, the A-20 ("Havoc") assault bomber and the C-47 heavy transport plane for the carrying of troops and cargo

dear ipod shuffle

dear ipod shuffle,

i miss you. you have been my friend for so long.

for over a year i have relied on you to provide my ears with sweet sounds and soothing melodies. for many months i have taken you with me wherever i have gone. you have been with me through many trials, many trails, many scenes, many nights, and days. you have been my sole companion on many a long bike ride. those 50 milers through dirt roads and city streets. you have kept the pedaling pace steady and sweet. your sleek silver design and light clip action held tight to me on my collar.

all until recently.

until you stopped glowing and stopped making any sound.

and to fix you will cost me more than i purchased you with.

im sorry my sweets, but your not worth it. i will have to misuse you. i am forced to find another.

its been fun while it lasted. and may you rest in peace.
