Jared, I love El Sitio. My family made it almost a weekly event to go there with my grandparents and all - Sunday afternoons, frequently. How about that warming light on the Tortilla Chips at the Salsa Bar?? How about the decor??
Gotta love that place. Always bring a quarter for the gumball machine, and watch your step on the way out - those green turf-covered cement stairs with the iron railing have ALWAYS sloped in weird ways...
enchiladas. yeah, baby.
I used to work there. Did you know that? Maybe it slipped my mind. No, no. It is more likely that I have been trying to forget it. My memories of the place generally revolve around the creepy old guy who used to come in every Sunday and 'accidentally' brush against us and video tape us. Then there was the lady who clearly had a drinking problem, she would order pitchers of beer alone, but have us keep the pitcher in the back to save face. Oh, but how could I forget all of the people who were having affairs. I always thought my margaritas were good, but I have seen many a tear shed over them..."Why don't you just leave her?! *sniff* I could make you so much happier!"
Hey, wait! Who is this maran? Is that YOU creepy old man? Sunday afternoon man? The ice tea drinking, nachos (no peppers) eating man? If it is, you have scarred me. thanks.
